"M.O.R. (Money, Oil, Religion)" written by Veon
M.O.R. is the problem, always seems to bother 'em
For all of eternity, it's why we've been fightin'
Superficial things we've all imagined
We give M.O.R. a greater power than they should hold
Believing everything we've ever been told
Blood on the sand is blood on our hands
feelin' just pity for the souls of the damned
We are humans, we will not prosper
Hate consumes all the energy we can offer
We hate our sisters, hate our brothers
for human-made things is why we kill each other
What I believe in is not what you believe
the sons then die as their mother's hearts bleed
We're forced into these situations as young children
then we all die, and do nothing until then
These three things aren't what they seem
but they come together and form a formidable team
a team taht we cannot beat in present form
We must push on and weather the storm
We all must hope for a future generation
to wake up and end all of the devestation
We all must hope for a future world
in which human lives no longer are sold
Sold for the price of something made up, imagined
the created price is greater than we all can fathom
We're forced to fight for something green or black
and all of our morals get all thrown out of whack
We're all told to love and to cherish
but for those ideals, many people will perish
We believe what we want, and will not be swayed
Those caught in the cross-fire is for whom I have prayed
We act so understanding, but that is all false
For if you deny, you'll no longer have a pulse
Superficial things, and that we cannot see
Is the reason for all of the blood on our streets
But who am I to preach to you?
Who cares if this all may be true?
You won't listen, you won't care
to be swayed is something so, so rare
We as humans have our beliefs set in stone
Moral or not, it's etched in our bones
I wish you would listen, I wish you would care
I wish you wouldn't give that evil glare
The evil glare that is derived out of spite
Is that the thing that helps you sleep at night?
One by one, we can change it all
One by one, we all might fall
but until the day that we band together
We will just keep killing each other
Black, white, asian, hispanic
Love each other, and do not panic
We can work with each other, regardless of color
but work for progress, and not for a dollar
This is meant for all, regardless of stature
Your attention is what I'm looking to capture
To tell you that all can be alright
This is the reason that I write
It starts with you, it starts with me
A better world is what I can see
M.O.R., why do we want more?
Why are we so consumed with what's in a store?
All things that we wish to afford
Things we pray for to our good Lord
Is this what we should do with our prayers?
We care too much for our own affairs
We are over-privileged living on this earth
It's the way we think starting with our birth
We are blessed to live, no matter how we got here
but to die becomes our greatest fear
Live a full life, however you enjoy
but don't harm someone over a damn toy
Stop killing each other over a resource
then turning to your God as your only recourse
Stop fighting under someone who has more green
and craving something you've never even seen
Stop arguing over something you cannot prove
Just accept what others think, for that is the best move
Learn from each other, instead of fighting
and use that knowledge to begin uniting
Stay strong with your morals, as I hope they are good
but be accepting, people must be understood
This isn't meant to tell you what to do
but I hope it's something you can stick to
I'm not above this, I am just like you
It's something I write to start anew
Understand each other, accept their thoughts
This violence is something together we can stop
It's human nature to need and to want
but together we can create a world-wide detente
It's also human nature to believe and to care
After all, we're all breathing the same air
We live on the same earth
In the same universe
We swim in the same sea
and drive on the same street
We all have aspirations and desires
These things will never expire
So instead of contesting and making things hard
Make things easier for those who are scarred
Even if they are not, help each other out
and if you don't get your way, don't cry and pout
Try harder and understand why
Work harder until the day that we die
Let's make the world a better place
Let's speak to one another, face to face
Let's take our minds off of things like M.O.R.
and become better people we can all adore
This is never over, it goes on for eternity
but make it possible in this world's modernity
No matter your stature, race or beliefs
No matter your past, as a priest or a thief
From this day forward, better yourselves
As I will continue to better myself
Love each other as human beings
and listen to everything that people are teaching
Knowledge and wisdom are great for our kind
Ignorance is for those with no mind
For now, I shall say farewell
but listen to the story I tell
M.O.R. is not more, it brings us down
It causes mothers and fathers to frown
So let's push beyond it, together as one
and when peace settles in, we know we have won
These three things are just part of the problem
There are many things that make the world solemn
Recognizing the many issues are key
Issues that we can not be too blind to see
Educate ourselves and let us all prosper
Educate ourselves on things that may be a bother
Accept these things and continue on
Work on that from dusk to dawn
From human to human, I care for you
but for now, my friend, I bid you adieu
